Please respond!

Ladies,

Please give a quick response to this question recently posted on the Yahoo forums.

Question:
Catholic women, do you wear a mantilla outside of Mass?
Hello, it is my first YA post and I am wondering if there are any other Catholic women out there who wear a mantilla in the presence of the Holy Host ... I am a highly conservative woman, and wonder if there are many out there.
Link here.

The responses, such as this one, have been less than helpful:
Hi. No I don't know anybody who wears one. And I would not really wear one myself.

Please welcome this woman into our small but burgeoning community!

  1. I have been wearing a mantilla now for about Ten years. Does not St. Paul tell us in 1Cor 11 that women should have their head covered in the churches and while praying. While attending Catholic grade school growing up, we HAD to have our heads covered. We are in the presence of God and his holy angels. It is a sign of womanhood, of respect in God's house and a desire to imitate Our Lady. It is so tiring and hurtful to seeing women dressed like men today. Hair like men, talk and act like men. And frankly, the feminists are racist against men. Women should be honored to be born a woman created by God. He, the Creator, created the sexes, and it is He that has the right to tell them what to do with it. Hello everyone!
